I would pay a bunch of really smart high stakes online poker players a lot of money to do consulting work. Design, promotions, business strategy, writing the TOS, anything and everything would be super useful. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like if you put the 5 smartest people working for an online gaming site in a room with the 5 smartest high stakes online poker players, and told each group to come up with 10 ways to significantly improve an online poker site, the poker players would win every time. Am I crazy?

IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK. Been traveling so much and now I’m home for about 2-3 months, which is probably the longest stretch I’ve been home for in the past year. My apartment needs some finishing and the gym needs going and poker needs playing because I am rusty and the WSOP is around the bend. Gonna need to put in some work.
On this StoxPoker/Cardrunners drama unfolding at 2p2: you can envy Taylor’s success but definitely not his problems, he is a good guy and I sincerely hope CR can gut the bad seeds from its system and get through this. Or all their subscribers leave for DC and we wipe them out in one fell swoop. Hahaha (just kidding, it would take at least three fell swoops)!
All the DC Founders were down in Austin for South by Southwest. I had access to both the Film and Interactive side this time, so I spent a lot of time watching a lot of movies. Recommendations:
I also saw Life 2.0 (very good documentary on Second Life) and Camp Victory, Afghanistan (about National Guardsmen in Western Afghanistan and the local Afghan militia they mentor).
Oh – I flew in too late to go to the Kick-Ass premiere, but I did attend a panel with most of the actors (sans Nick Cage, likely filming Japanese commercials) and creators where they screened a few scenes. This movie is going to be really fucking fun:
While I’m at it, I saw House of Flying Daggers this week too. Really sweet wuxia movie, and pretty – the use of color is amazing. Wikipedia says it got a 20 minute standing O at Cannes – imagine a 20 minute standing ovation!
My hands would get tired.
