Online Poker Should be Taxed and Regulated

It’s ridiculous that we wake up every day in the middle of a widespread American prohibition on a game that everyone loves to play, is clearly a skill game and obvious to anyone with half a brain, and is a multi-BILLION dollar industry.  It’s high time more online poker players realize this.  Tons of Americans are graduating college into massive debt and no employment prospects.  Talent is wasting away everywhere and there is money HANGING there begging to be taken to do some good.  TAX AND REGULATE.  ESPN and NBC air tons of poker programming, Joe Cada gets on Letterman, but for some reason no one in this goddamn industry is smart enough to figure out how to rally the troops.  I don’t know, if I were a smart young hungry liberal politician I’d see tremendous opportunity here to do something good for the economy and a massive cross section of Americans, the PPA is clearly not enough…

Anyway, the guys at Poker Law Bulletin know way better than I do and if you’re a poker pro or care about poker in general, you should be at least aware of what’s going on and ready to throw your support behind the right rallying cry when the time comes.  Because the time is coming.  The Internet is not going anywhere and neither are we.

  1. “Unbelievably we have 2,000 to 3,000 downloads of PartyPoker.net every day from players in the U.S., which shows the strength of the PartyPoker business even though we have not advertised there for over two years.” – Party CMO

  2. I hope if and when it does become a regulated industry, it will set a good precedent for the EU because right now there’s nothing but uncertainty and confusion

  3. about time someone did something, for sure! This has gone on long enough. We need more fish into the game, so I don’t get picked on so much, all the time!

because everybody wins at poker right ?

  5. lol yourself, i’m talking about taxes, reading comprehension ftw

  6. There must be some strange reason why they haven’t tried to regulate it and raise billions. Could they, the US Government, be having a moral dilema as poker is essentially gambling when you strip it bare and they see gambling as morally wrong?

I get extremely fired up about these types of issues. Inevitably, when I go into one of my tirades, everyone thinks I am crazy.

However, the bottom line is these scumbags are trying to dictate what I can and cannot do with my life. Who the hell are you to do that? Execute them for treason as far as I am concerned – that is only 15% joking. I think everyone is crazy for NOT opposing this bullshit.

The idiots polluting our country allow this to happen though. Politicians can get away with pursuing their individual agendas at the expense of the majority because we allow it. The corruption at every level of government is astounding. Congressmen have built great defenses with their gerrymandering of districts. You can’t be a senator unless you are rich. And people sit back like sheep and do whatever they are told. As a result, we all suffer.

  8. ok i agree with all that, but when is the new busto to rubsto episode coming ?
